La Gro Geelkerken lawyers opens an Asia desk

La Gro Geelkerken lawyers expands with lawyer and Asia expert Joost Vrancken Peeters. This will significantly boost the further expansion of the firm's international advisory and transactional practice.

Joost Vrancken Peeters joins the corporate law practice of La Gro Geelkerken lawyers as both a lawyer and a partner. Joost is a very experienced lawyer in the field of mergers and acquisitions, financial transactions, strategic investments, securities and company restarting. He combines this valuable expertise with specialist knowledge of and extensive experience with the Dutch-Asian legal field. Joost's arrival is the kick-off of the Asia desk at La Gro Geelkerken.

Joost graduated from Radboud University Nijmegen and started his career as a lawyer at NautaDutilh in 1998. He then set up the Asia desk as a partner and managing partner at Kneppelhout Korthals Advocaten. Joost is chairman of the Netherlands-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and an active member of various Chinese-Dutch business clubs.

The majority of Joost's clients are Asian companies that want to do business in the Netherlands and Dutch companies that are seeking advice and help with their activities in Asia. Joost will continue and further develop his practice within the firm, with the current focus on China and Vietnam, two of the world’s fastest growing markets. Legal bridge to Chinese-speaking clients

To speed up this step, an employee has been brought in immediately: Ye Yu. Ye obtained her master's degree in corporate law at the renowned Tongji University in Shanghai in 2014.Chinese is her native language, and she speaks excellent Dutch and English. She can therefore easily build the "legal bridge" to Chinese-speaking clients.

Joost and Ye will mainly work out of La Gro Geelkerken lawyers’s office in the WTC in The Hague, the ideal environment for a growing international practice.
